How to Play Sketch & Guess Online?

Sketch & Guess is a no-points party game where words pass through a chain of drawings and guesses — and get hilariously distorted along the way. Free, for 3-10 players, playable on any device.

The Chain Mechanic

Each player starts their own chain. Words rotate around the group — alternating between drawing and guessing — until every player has contributed to every chain.

✏️Player 1 writes: "Elephant"
🎨Player 2 draws their best elephant
🤔Player 3 guesses: "Grey blob with a hose?"
🎨Player 4 draws a grey blob with a hose
🎉Everyone sees the full chain — and laughs

Step by Step

No Points — Pure Fun

Sketch & Guess has no scoring system. There is no winner. The reward is watching your "Eiffel Tower" turn into a "pointy hat" and then a "wizard" over the course of 4 rounds. The laughs at the reveal screen are the whole point.

💡 Tip: You don't need to be a good artist — bad drawings make the game funnier. The worse the drawing, the more unexpected the guess, and the better the reveal.

Timers

If time runs out before you submit, whatever you have typed or drawn is submitted automatically so the game keeps moving.

How Many Players?

Sketch & Guess works best with 5-8 players. With 4 players the chains are short but still fun. With 8-10 players the chains are longer and more chaotic — which usually produces funnier results.

Play Again

After the reveal the host can start a new game with the same group. Everyone stays in the room — no need to reshare the link.

💡 Best words to write: Specific things work better than abstract concepts — "dachshund", "spaghetti", "Mount Everest" will produce funnier chains than "happiness" or "love".
