How to Play Who Am I? Online

Who Am I? is a classic party guessing game — now free to play online with friends, family or your team. Each player gets a secret character stuck to their head (virtually!). The only way to find out who you are is to ask yes/no questions.

What You Need

Game Setup

One player creates a room and shares the 5-letter code with everyone else. Before starting, the host chooses:

How to Play

Each turn, one player is in the hot seat — they have a secret character assigned to them that only the other players can see. The active player asks yes/no questions out loud (voice mode) or by typing (chat mode):

The other players answer Yes or No. When the active player thinks they know who they are, they say their answer out loud — then tap the ✅ I guessed it! button if they're right. If wrong, the game continues until the timer runs out or they surrender.

💡 Tip: Start with broad questions (Am I human? Am I fictional?) before getting specific. You'll narrow it down much faster.

Scoring

After all players have had their turns (based on the rounds setting), the player with the most points wins.

Voice Mode vs Chat Mode

In Voice mode, questions are asked and answered out loud — perfect for in-person gatherings or video calls. The active player uses the helper questions on screen as inspiration, then taps ✅ when they've guessed correctly.

In Chat mode, everything happens in the in-game chat. The active player types a question, other players respond, and guesses are submitted via text. Great for mixed remote/in-person groups.

Categories & Difficulty

Choose Mixed to get characters from all categories — ideal for larger groups with varied interests.

💡 Playing with kids? Set difficulty to Easy, category to Cartoons & Stories, and turn off the timer for a relaxed, fun experience.

Host Controls

As the host you can skip a character mid-round (useful if a character has already been played), start a rematch with the same group, and adjust settings between games.
